The Igbo language is a means of communication and an integral part of Igbo culture. When a fable is deployed to communicate in Igbo language, it exemplifies the summit of Igbo linguistics in the art of communication. Therefore, for an Igbo, to speak the language well is a virtue but to employ fables in advancing his point or strengthening his communication, becomes a milestone that distinguishes the speaker and confirms him as an authority. It equally shows that he or she has reached the highest level in the use of Igbo language. To get to that point, the person must have attained a level where he keeps abreast of the rules that guide the use of Igbo language at such an advanced stage.
