The Igbo language is a means of communication and an integral part of Igbo culture. When a fable is deployed to communicate in Igbo language, it exemplifies the summit of Igbo linguistics in the art of communication. Therefore, if an Igbo is able to speak the language well, it is a virtue but if he or she can deploy fables in advancing a point or strengthening the communication, it becomes a milestone that distinguishes the speaker and confirms him or her as an authority in Igbo linguistic. To get to that point, the person must have attained a level where he or she knows the rules that guide the use of Igbo language without a blemish.
