Umbilical cord ( Alọ Ma Ọ Bụ Eriri Otubo) how it is viewed in Igbo land

In general, the umbilical cord is the connection which links a baby to the mother through the placenta during fetal development in the womb. It is through the umbilical cord that a baby gets all the required nutrients to develop well in the womb and remain healthy. After birth, the cord is tired or clips together to prevent air from penetrating inside and is cut off in some cases.  After this separation has been done, the baby must be properly taken care of, especially when the baby is being cleaned to avoid germs getting into the baby's system. However, what the umbilical cord is, to the Igbo, is a different kettle of fish.
