IPOB goes tough on billionaire Igbo business tycoon, declares May 30 sit-at-home day

Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has declared a multi-billionaire businessman, Arthur Eze, the enemy of Ndigbo.
The pro-Biafra group has also declared Thursday, May 30, as sit-at-home day in Eastern Nigeria in order to honour their heroes who fought in the Nigerian civil war.
Eze is, however, linked with an alleged secret Fulani herders camp In Anambra State, a development that is not going down well with IPOB.
The declaration is coming some three years after IPOB listed the business magnet among prominent Igbo leaders allegedly behind the travails of the detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
In July 2021, The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have included Archbishop Emmanuel Chukwuma of the Anglican Communion Enugu, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, billionaire businessman, Chief Arthur Eze na Ukpo, to the list of persons involved in the abduction and extradition of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
This was disclosed in a statement by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful.
The group had previously accused Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State; his Anambra counterpart, Charles Soludo; Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, then Rivers State governor; another billionaire businessman, Emeka Offor, and former Labour Minister, Chris Ngige, of allegedly conniving with Abuja to arrest Nnamdi Kanu.
“Following continuous investigations over the betrayal and unlawful rendition of our leader, Nnamdi Kanu, from Kenya to Nigeria, we discovered more Igbo politicians, greedy businessmen and religious leaders are involved in the heinous crime.
“Just as we noted in our earlier statement on the list of traitors involved in this abominable act that we would continue to update the list as investigations continue, we therefore wish to update the list based on our latest findings.
“After thorough investigations by our intelligence unit, the following saboteurs were found to have played various roles in the unholy act:
“Archbishop Emmanuel Chukwuma of the Anglican Communion, Enugu;
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu; Arthur Eze of Anambra, the Supreme Court administrator of Imo, Hope Uzodinma, Soludo; Wike, Emeka Offor; and Ngige are involved.
“While Emeka Offor and Nyesom Wike were the main financiers that bankrolled the project, others played various roles in the act.
”There are yet few other individuals still under investigation to ascertain their levels of involvement, and we shall not hesitate to update the list as soon as more discoveries are made.
“These traitors who see Nnamdi Kanu as a big threat to their political and business interests are still urging the federal government to deal with him.
“But we want to make it clear to them that should anything untoward happen to our leader, we shall hold them accountable.
“They are working hard with the security agencies to link our leader, Nnamdi Kanu with the activities of the unknown gunmen in parts of South East and South South.
“We had long time ago raised the alarm that the so-called unknown gunmen were the creation of the government and its allies to implicate IPOB and the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
“We will not sit down again and watch them killing our people without response”, IPOB said.
Consequently, IPOB says it has declared Arthur Eze “a security threat” to Ndigbo for allegedly creating a Fulani settlement in Anambra.
Powerful, who announced this in a statement, is calling on Governor Soludo and Arthur Eze to “evacuate the Fulani terrorists”, nicknamed herdsmen, they allegedly imported into Enugwu Agidi… opposite Dunukofia Local Government Area headquarters near zone 13 Police Station at Ukpo’.
Powerful rebuked Soludo and Eze for the action, referring to them as “two Fulani puppets”, alleging further that they created a community for Fulani terrorists masquerading as herdsmen and causing mayhem.
According to him, “these two men are setting up a timed bomb in Anambra and the entire South-East. What exactly is the Fulani Caliphate using to hypnotise or pressure some of the Eastern politicians for them to agree to create Fulani communities in the East?
“The Northern region claimed to have land mass three times the size of the entire South-East. Why then are they scrambling to create Fulani settlements in many Eastern states?
“Could it be to export and position their terrorists for conquest? Is Fulani Settlement an investment or an invitation for anarchy?”
The IPOB spokesman is urging relatives and associates of Arthur Eze to warn him to retract his steps. He also reminded Eze that his economic interest should not be placed above the safety and survival of Ndigbo.
He regretted that Arthur Eze has not built any industry in the region, despite his “acclaimed billionaire status”. Regardless of that, he adds that the only investment he is bringing to Ndigbo are Fulani terrorist communities.
Powerful called Eze, a desperate and insatiable greedy old man, ready to sacrifice the safety of Anambra indigenes to Fulanis for personal economic gain.
Blasting Soludo, he said, “a governor that Ndigbo held in high esteem, a seasoned economist, and a Professor like Charles Soludo has become a toy in the hands of a Fulani agent called Arthur Eze.
“Desperation for a second term has made Soludo succumb to pressure from the Fulani hegemony through Arthur Eze. An insatiable greedy man called Arthur Eze claimed he was made rich by the Fulani hegemony and swore to always work for their interest.
“His only interest is to protect the oil well that was illegally allocated to him by his Fulani masters. Has Ndigbo asked Arthur Eze what exactly he has been doing for the Fulanis that warrants the Fulanis to reward him with oil blocks.
“He was made rich to be a channel for Fulanis destabilization of Ndigbo and Nigeria.”
IPOB is therefore calling on all well-meaning people of Anambra to rise up and stop Arthur Eze before he turns Anambra into a slaughterhouse like Southern Kaduna.
While insisting that no part of Igbo land will be sold or handed over to Fulani terrorists, the group warned Eze against selling Ndigbo to the northern Fulani oligarchy.
“IPOB is in charge of Biafra land now and will do everything to defend it with the last drop of our blood. IPOB will never allow Arthur Eze to succeed in destroying the homogeneity and safety of Ndigbo.
“We warn Arthur Eze and Soludo, as a matter of urgency, to remove and relocate all the Fulani terrorists and cows they imported and camped at Enugwu Agidi…
“Those imported terrorists must be sent back to where they came from or have the ESN to contend with; we don’t care what any of you may put in place there to protect them.
“We are also warning the Anambra governor, Soludo and his government to stop playing politics with the security of Anambra indigenes and Biafra people.
“Soludo must stop the likes of Arthur Eze from endangering Anambrarians for his selfish economic interests. We remind Gov. Soludo that politics for the second term must not be played with the life of Anambra residents.
“The nefarious activities of the Fulani terrorists masquerading as herdsmen in Anambra State… is unbecoming.
“Since, Soludo stood helpless while Arthur Eze imported armed murderous Fulanis with cows into Enugwu Agadi, kidnapping, raping, killings, forceful disappearance, and farm destruction in Anambra State has increased.
“The Fulani terrorists, aka herdsmen, menace in the South East must be checkmated by ESN irrespective of state government and federal government’s sabotage.
“The unwarranted attack against ESN by the Joint Task Force of Nigeria Security while countering Fulani herdsmen destruction of farmlands on Saturday 20th April 2024 should not repeat.
“ESN will not fail to retaliate against any attacks if provoked. ESN will do everything necessary to protect Biafrans and Biafra Land”, the group said.
Top IPOB insiders say it has come to a limelight that Arthur Eze has allegedly established a secret Fulani herder’s camp behind a police station in Enugwu-Agidi in Anambra.
The development is being seen as a confirmation to the alarm and accusation of IPOB months back, which claimed that Eze was working against the wellbeing and interest of Ndịgbo in order for him to remain relevant to Northern interests, in a bid to keep securing his oil wells.
Also in July 2021, IPOB added Uzodinma, Soludo, as well as other businessmen in the two states to the growing list of those allegedly working against Nnamdi Kanu.
Powerful, in a statement disclosed that they uncovered more “Biafran traitors” involved in the betrayal of their detained leader.
IPOB however, absolved the former Anambra governor, Willie Obiano, from any involvement in the act contrary to its previous statement.
It was reported that IPOB indicted Wike, Obiano, Emeka Offor, and Ngige, as masterminds of the abduction and repatriation of Nnamdi Kanu.
IPOB claimed that it uncovered those behind the betrayal of Nnamdi Kanu to the evil hands of the then Fulani-controlled government through the collaboration of the Kenyan government and its secret services.
“Our crack intelligence unit uncovered how the treacherous Wike, Obiano, greedy Igbo business man, Emeka Offor, and Ngige conspired to sabotage our leader to safeguard their selfish political and business interests”, the group claimed..
Later, the pro-Biafra mass movement absolved Obiano from any involvement in the act contrary to their previous statement.
It noted that Obiano was found to be innocent and regretted any harm the earlier statement might have caused him.
“Through in-depth investigations and intelligence gathering, IPOB has uncovered more Biafran traitors involved in the betrayal of Nnamdi Kanu and his subsequent abduction and extradition from Kenya to Nigeria.
These saboteurs colluded with the federal government to perpetrate the heinous crime.
“Just as we promised after we released the first list of these traitors that we were conducting further investigations to unravel other collaborators, our investigations had revealed the involvement of the following individuals:
“Senator Ngige, the Supreme Court administrator of Imo State, Uzodinma, Soludo and other business men in Anambra and Imo who contributed immensely for the job.
“In our earlier statement on this, we noted that we were still investigating the level of Ngige’s involvement in this abominable act, and our in-depth investigations have proved him culpable in the act.
“Other people involved will soon be published to the public; our intelligence units are still working to unravel them.
“Some Igbo business men and women who were involved in the abominable act in Anambra State and Imo State will soon be exposed to the public.
“We, however, wish to absolve Willie Obiano from any involvement in the act contrary to our earlier statement based on preliminary investigation.
“Willie Obiano was found to be innocent after our intelligence unit conducted further investigations on him. We regret any harm our earlier statement might have caused him.
“We don’t act based on rumour or mere propaganda. Senator Victor Umeh is innocent of the accusations against him, the voice note going viral where they mentioned Victor Umeh is not true and our people should disregard that voice against him.
“Anybody involved in such an abominable act should desist from such and repent because IPOB will get him or her who are responsible for this cowardly act.
“We are responsible enough to admit our errors any time any day. So, we apologise to Obiano and Victor Umeh.
“The following individuals based on our in-depth investigations so far played key roles in the betrayal of our leader, Nnamdi Kanu. They not only betrayed him but contributed funds to sponsor his extraordinary rendition to Nigeria.
“They include: Emeka Offor, Nyesom Wike, Chris Ngige, Hope Uzodinma and Professor Chukwuma Soludo. They decided to trap our leader Nnamdi Kanu because of their political and commercial interests which they consider above the overall good and emancipation of Biafrans.
“We want to make it clear to them that Biafra will hold them responsible for whatever happens to our leader. They cannot stop us”, Powerful insisted..
In the meantime, on the Thursday, May 30 sit-at-home day in the East, IPOB says it is an annual event to remember the men and women who died during the bloody civil war between 1967 and 1970.
“The sit-at-home is an annual event held on May 30th to remember the men and women who died during the Nigerian civil war between 1967 and 1970.
“IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, urged all Biafrans, friends of Biafra, and residents in Biafra Land to observe the sit-at-home and reflect on the sacrifices made by the fallen heroes.
“All schools, government offices, private offices, banks, transport unions, market unions, and private individuals are expected to shut down operations on May 30th, except for medical personnel and emergency workers”, says the group.
IPOB also calls on Christians and traditional worshipers to use the day to pray for the fallen heroes and for Biafra’s independence from Nigeria.
The group warned residents to avoid moving around and stay indoors from 6am to 6pm to avoid any confrontation with security operatives.
“IPOB members in diaspora are encouraged to organize peaceful rallies and seminars to raise awareness about the Biafran struggle and the ongoing genocide against the Biafran people.
“By honouring the heroes and heroines of the Biafran struggle, IPOB hopes to keep their memory alive and continue the fight for Biafra’s freedom and independence”.
However, on May 30, 1967, the then governor of the defunct Eastern Region Lt. Col. Chukwuemeka O Ojukwu, declared the Republic of Biafra.
Chiefs and elders of the region earlier met on May 27, at the behest of Ojukwu and resolved that the new country should be declared at a practicable date.
In their words, “having witnessed the injustices and atrocities committed against Eastern Nigeria…. Such atrocities include the murder of over 30,000 innocent men, women and children by Northern Nigerians, and calculated destruction of property which rendered 2,000,000 Eastern Nigerians refugees in their supposed own country.”
It was the leader of the people, Chief Frank Opigo (Dawai III), the Amananaowei of Angiama who under the direction of their ancestors suggested that the new country should be called Biafra.
It is regarded as an ancient name that the people were known with before the coming of the British imperialists. With the declaration of Biafra by Ojukwu, Nigerian troops made their first shot in Garkem, a shot that caused Igbo men and women to risk their lives in defence of their country.
For three excruciating years, with a total blockade, under a massive bombardment they held the Nigerian forces, backed by Britain, Egypt and Russia.
Biafran fighters gave up their lives to safeguard their homeland. Their heroic service is not forgotten by IPOB; it is always dear to their heart and collective memory.
On that day, IPOB will be remembering the over two million children starved to death to secure the unrestricted flow of oil and gas.
The Southern Examiner gathered that they will mourn the death of their kith and kin massacred in Asaba and their women converted to war trophies by the Nigerian troops.
“They are the victims of the brutality of a people who claim we are one”, says an IPOB activist, alleging that the western countries .looked the other way when the worst genocide in human history after the Holocaust was taking place in Nigeria.
While the world appeared to be silent at the time, a 20 year old Columbia university student, Bruce Mayrock, made a bold and powerful statement by setting himself ablaze in front of United Nations building in New York to protest the genocide against Ndigbo by the Nigerian government.
For the IPOB spokesman, the pro-Biafra group cannot forget the indomitable unarmed Biafrans who lost their lives in Nkpor in 2016 and at a Trump rally in Igwe-ocha in 2017.
“We remember the twenty-eight young men who were massacred at Afara-Ukwu Ibeku in 2018. They are always in our heart. We remember them every day of our life.
“They pledged their honour, dignity and breath to a course they know is right and just. The actions of these great heroes made Biafra great, powerful and supreme.
“They sanctified the land with blood and tears. Their tremendous sacrifice has encouraged us to make ourselves worthy and to keep the flame of freedom burning.
“To our veterans and survivors, we honour them on this special day. They are the face of a movement for which a generation accepted to die.
“We make a sacred promise to them and those who perished, that we will fight; we will struggle until there is standing tall in all her glory and majesty the sovereign state of Biafra.
“The touch of liberty has been passed down to a new generation, the IPOB, to continue the quest for the restoration of Biafra.
“The greatest honour we can give the over five million of our people killed in the war is to work together to restore the old country”, the group says..
